What a day for a Championship. Bright Sunny, and great football teams.Â
Games started of well with a great match-up between Martech/95 and Hit Squad. Very close game, but the veteran talent took over and Martech/95 won the game and moved on. They faced Metro Dawgs who had won their early game against a very light Fast Eddies squad. Fast Eddies never gave up, they just didn't have the numbers to keep up the pace of the game. Â
the 10:30 games had some great fire to them as well. Ryde Out and Bruins faced off once again. Two teams very familiar with each other, and they played another instant classic. Da Villans took on the Blackhawks, and for a time Blackhawks held serve. Late mistakes hurt the Blackhawks, and Da Villans took advantage of them. Â
Semi Finals where fantastic games.  Martech/95 Took on the Metro Dawgs, and met them play for play.  Overcoming some early obstacles, they made plays early. The best play of the game was a blocked FG attempt that was returned for a Touchdown. Metro Dawgs fought back, however Martech never gave up. Game as still in question all the way to the end.  The next game had Da Villans taking on The Bruins. Another hard fought game that had an ebb and flow. I missed the majority of this one,  but the plays I did see showed my why these two squads where battling it out for the right to play in the Big Show. Da Villans won the game, and they moved on. Â
Championship Game was a bit antil-climatic after the hard fought Semi Finals.  Metro Dawgs came out hard and quick, and Da Villans held serve for a solid part of the game.  Da Villans played well, but they didn't maintain the fire they had used during the regular season. Metro Dawgs won 18-0 and where awarded the 2009 Spring Pro Championship. Â
Semi Pro and Rec Tournametns are this weekend.  Seedings changed a bit with Diamondbacks and The Franchise pulling down 2 wins and Light Em Up dropping to get #8. Â
